With regards to treatment, is weekly depocillin injections the best form of treatment or could I give shorter acting penicillins more often? I haven't seen the rabbits yet, but they are apparently coming with dosing instructions for daily dosing, which is what confused me. How long does the treatment course last?

Re: Treating Syphillis in Rabbits

You need a procaine benzylpenicillin such as depocillin or ultrapen which is given at 40,000iu/kg SC every 7 days. I've never tried using any other formulations or dosing, Why do you want to use shorter acting forms?.You need to be really careful with using penicillins in rabbits so I wouldn't go against the recommended use. I would not use betamox LA.
