If you have a week or two off, the vet colleges often have signs on the noticeboard from farmers looking for students to help with lambing - they will usually put you up in the farmhouse, feed you, and pay you a small amount. It's a good way to get some basic experience quickly before you move on to more difficult sheep cases - the ones the vet gets called for! Most of the farmers needing students will probably have one booked by now, but maybe still worth a try. Should still be plenty of ewes lambing up until end of April.

Re: Farm vet – experience

how about going to "see practice" at a busy farm practice. not the best way to spend time off but you are likely to get experience quickly if you show willing to get stuck-in
