Had liver biopsy taken one month ago and report was as follows:

I always tell my clients that cats with this condition fall into 3 catergories: those that fail to respond, those that get better and those that improve but then regress. Liken it to George Best's liver and they get the idea! You're doing the right stuff but do add in the SAMe but remember the prognosis is guarded at any stage.

We had one recently, it unfortunately bled out from the liver biopsy and the owner didn't want further surgery/blood transfusions. We thought it would be a nailed on hepatic neoplasia but lab report was lymphocytic cholangitis and said guarded to poor prognosis so the owner felt vindicated.

Re: Feline lymphocytic cholangitis

+1 for mirtazapine, would also consider addition of famotidine + SAME-e (we usually use denamarin)

Re: Feline lymphocytic cholangitis

Would you consider mirtazepine as an appetite stimulant?
