Good luck with the pups. You've not indicted that she's unwell, pyrexic, has anything other than a good appetite or that there is any blood which might be reasons to give pre-emptive antibiotic. You need a sample for culture/examination and make an indicative diagnosis before you dish out antibiotics. Carry on with a sensitive diet, probiotics and kaolin (or whatever) and electrolyte replacement fluids. And give her some precautionary fenbendazole as suggested.

Re: Diarrhoea in lactating bitch

Yes, thanks. I had forgotten to worm her especially before breeding, but have given her 1 dose of panacur 3 days ago. Also bland diet, vitB12, multivit tab and pro-kolin. Think we are gradually getting there, so far no antibs. The pups are thriving so far, and she's gaining condition. The garden is disgusting!

Re: Diarrhoea in lactating bitch
Any advice on the what is safe and appropriate? she has 10 pups, they are a little scrawny but very lively so far
Not sure what worming protocol you went for before whelping, but also might be worth considering Giardia if she's not been on Panacur?

Plus a bunch of vits/minerals and a faecal study, to be on the safe side.
