It seems to have fallen to me to operate on an egg-bound chameleon tomorrow (just because I'm the rabbit vet and it's an exotic...). I'm not complaining really- I would like to get more in to exotics that aren't rabbits and am thinking of getting

Re: my first reptile op

Well done Hannah,

No, that I haven't seen with ovarian issues? Could she have thermal burns (and have literally cooked the follicles if chronic/extreme temperatures??)? Or a separate skin pathology? Very odd case...

Re: my first reptile op
Was it a firm, pale yellow lump?
Was it a firm, pale yellow lump? Sometimes the yolks all congeal (and slowly rot) in chronic cases and can enlarge to envelop the adjacent vena cava. These are usually horribly septic animals by this stage but being reptiles just pretend they're fine until we intervene!

At least you tried and did what was fair and reasonable for her. Plus you got some experience so when the next one comes along you won't be fazed by the GA!
