An ivermectin injection was given. I have ran a biochemistry -unfortunately I couldn't get enough to run a haematology. The ALT was elevated at 231, Cholesterol was 1.39 and the rest were within normal limits. the weight loss is my biggest concern so I have started on Septrin for coccidiosis as this seems to be the most likely cause and I have taken a faecal sample for flotation. He is still eating well and he has lost no further weight in the past few days.

Re: help -young rabbit, great appetite, weight loss

I agree with Catherine. Plus, there is no need to give Aurizon- if you suspect dermatophytosis then there are several formulations of topical creams that contain just an imidazole eg canesten!

Do you have a photo of the rabbit?

Re: help -young rabbit, great appetite, weight loss

I would stop the aurizon as i'd worry about the effects of the steroid component. I'd get blood for e.cuniculi and also a biochem profile plus haem. And send 3 days of faecal samples away to check for coccidia. Also have you done any skin scrapes or tape strips or dermatophyte culture? If not do those too.
