 An 18 month old FE rat presented to me 2 weeks ago with a generalised lymphadenopathy. The owner declined FNA or biopsy and elected to try a course of antibiotics. I prescribed 50mg synulox BID. I saw her again a few days ago. Under treatment and prognosis it just says prognosis poor.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ve never done a rat splenectomy but it must be possible. I would have thought that if it has generalised lymphadenopathy there would be little point in doing a splenectomy because the problem is already generalised.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I would be thinking of getting FNAs and blood for haematology as the first step.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
