This is a 2y male DLH (Birman-cross) who I saw for routine vaccination the other day. His owner reports that intermittently his chin looks quite swollen, which is did on the day. It also has these white, firm feeling areas present. Often flea allergy is involved, and these are often associated with fat lips and so called rodent ulcers. Overgrooming and physical trauma may play a role. Secondary infection is common, and often there is a decent response to nothing more than antibiotic, but corticosteroids will usually resolve these, and of course looking for underlying causes such as flea control issues....

There is also a connection with feline acne and eosinophilic granuloma lesions on lips, tongue and palate.

I would not expect FNA on such a chin to be rewarding, but I'm impressed you managed the attempt....!

Re: Swollen Chin

Sorry, not suggesting i know the answer, tried to edit, hit the wrong tab and can't reverse it

I used to see quite a few of these about 12 years ago and they were presented for this, haven't seen another since then.
I put them down to an allergic response as with many I found flea dirt and with a shot of steroids they went away. (But would they have done so anyway)
They looked like cats that you wouldn't mess with as looked quite mean!!
