Swab the oral cavity and choana for microbes if any lesions are present there and check for fluorescein drainage from subspectacular space into the choana. Have the cultures yielded the same flora each time or varied commensal/pathogens?

If you have been treating with appropriate sensitivity guided antibiotics and it is still occurring then something other than bacteria is interfering with local/systemic immune response. Sounds a very frustrating case!

Re: chronic subspectacular abscess

Hi Violaine! Do you know Modern Vet Clinic in Dubai? Ask to speak to Dr Attila Beregi, he's an exotics expert, PhD and many years of experience teaching exotics at the vet university in Budapest. Really sharp guy, knows his exotics backwards and forwards. Can't recommend him highly enough.
