I saw a cat that had been attacked the night before. The owner heard her cat cry and come running in, but didn't hear another animal. I know 9 times out of 10 it's another cat but this ain't no cat bite. Of course we knows that according to owners cats never get in fights with other cats so it could have been: pecked by a bird, bitten by a squirrel or a rat, attacked by a fox or beamed up and experimented on by aliens. All are more likely that a cat fight!

As a slight aside my own cat was ill last week while I was away skiing. Mrs A kept texting me to ask what she should do. I told her to examine him for wounds all over, feel his abdomen to see if it was tense and if still concerned go and see the locum or call the OOH vet if it was OOH. I arrived back Christmas even and I could see the swelling on his face from the front door. He had a horrible necrotic abscess that need debriding and suturing. You'd think the wife of a vet would know better wouldn't you? Well, perhaps not!

Re: What animal did this?

I had a DSH like this once and the owner reported it being next doors Bengal cat. It looked very similar to this with huge long scratches down it's back, very nasty looking and not your typical fight wound!

Re: What animal did this?

[quote user="bob lehner"]
