Did anyone read the articles in In Practice on Domitor? Seemed pretty useful practical and informative to me.

I draw up either 1.5 or 2ml and give the average cat 0.5ml as an initial bolus and see. I'd say average induction dose 1ml.

I give the propofol myself, it's just so they know how much to have drawn up and ready for the surgeries.

I do exactly the same (I actually make up 1.5 ml so there's a bit left if we need a sudden top up because the Iso wasn't turned up high enough) maybe a bit more if its a large cat so we're talking 1ml/4kg if you want it in real money. If that is the dose you use and find it effective then that's the correct dose, what more do you or your nurse need to know?

Propofol should be titrated to effect, so an actual dose, while helpful, does not actually indicate how much to give to the cat! If the manufacturers can't give you a specific dose for this drug combination, it is unlikely to exist! All you fill find out is what people usually use - which is likely to be what you are already using!

(Just a note - in the UK no one other than vets, including RVNs, are allowed to give drugs which are 'titrate to effect' for that reason - there is no specific dose that they can be directed to give!)
