&lt;p&gt;the below is my opinioin/experience rather than evidence based&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;treatimg the incont well keeps the dogs nether regions less dirty. &amp;nbsp;this then reduces the risk of ascending infection.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;take care re. infections not clearing 100%.&lt;/p&gt;
