Every DDx has to have neoplasia in there somewhere.............</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>https://www.vetsurgeon.org/thread/97935?ContentTypeID=1Fri, 27 Sep 2013 11:37:02 GMT146601cc-3922-4be7-9974-7e1d4e45a66b:a6fcac7a-9678-4c27-8651-8307afdc51dbJohn Flynn<p>Would be a digital amputation through MC-P joint in my hands.</p> <p>Hang on and you might get some clever alternatives suggested though.</p> <p>I think problem with avulsion fracture is the ongoing instability of jt due to ligament damage and i do guess that distal pathology is due to this and time.</p> <p>guessing that other limb pathology has little to do with it, more just repeatedly stumping the toe.</p> <p>i&#39;m sure arthrodesis is possible, but i wouldn&#39;t contemplate it personally.</p> <p>digital neurectomy might be an alternative salvage strategy prior to considering amputation , but i&#39;d expect to do great with outside toe amputated so why consider other options?</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
