Eventually resorted to Manuka and Allevyn dressing encompassing the whole head and left it on for 5 days at a time. Tricky to achieve, and Buster collar obligatory. Becomes a smelly mess, but once debris cleaned off the tissue underneath was granulating beautifully. Healed after 2 dressings.

Re: ear edge will not heal

it is a 35kg boxer with severe skin issues on 2.5mg pred eod but I would not have thought this enough to interupt healing. has had 3 weeks ceporex and tried dressing but will not tolerate anything on ear. owners have appied various creams

Re: ear edge will not heal

Any pictures?

Any sign of immunosuppression in the animal? Clinical reason for it not healing? Persistent infection?

What have you tried? We find cut-heal ointment works well, as do silver or honey dressings, or even just dermisol.
