Just wondering what other people are doing with stubborn/ recurrent anal gland infections. I've got a patient with one that is being particularly annoying! She is an old dog, so I really don't want to remove the anal glands except as a last

Re: problem anal glands

Gah- I know removal may be the eventual answer, but want to say nah-nah-nah-nah, I can't hear you!!

I have faffed with stubborn anal sacs many times. Always had to remove them always wondered why I hadn't done it sooner. Done early simple quick straight forward op - if left it becomes horrible. These days I just get on with it. Immense relief for the dog, less medication, fewer antibiotics. Cheaper in the long run.

I use latex and find it easier, others prefer not to.
