I was wondering what antibiotics people are using for lamb pneumonia? I've been using oxytet as a first choice but am unsure what to use as my second or third choice if this doesn't work.

Just make sure they are getting lots of fluids as dehydration hugely complicates everything in lambs. They need lots of oral fluids.

(if just a day or so old could be meconium inhalation and then anything seems to help, but NSAIDS and fluids).

I may be naughty but I tend to be generous and use small animal doses or carprofen rather than the little farm animal doses (1ml/12.5kg rather than 1ml per 30kg) for baby lambs.

Re: Lamb pneumonia

How young are your lambs? If you can titrate the dose down Micotil used to work a treat (although you wouldn't want to open a bottle just for one lamb - I used to have an open bottle knocking around specifically for that purpose), otherwise Draxxin and Zactran are pretty effective (all under cascade). Don't forget the NSAIDs too!
