I believe it can only be obtained in the UK under a Special Import Licence&nbsp; Apparently someone mentioned it in a talk at BEVA 2012 and there was some published evidence for its use intra-articularly to reduce osteophyte formation and subchondral bone reaction and promote cartilage formation (although I think the research was done in sheep, not horses). The IA dose is a fraction of the IM dose but it is produced in a formulation specifically for IA use in other European countries. However any animal receiving the drug must not be in training as it is banned under the Rules of Racing. I would assume, reading between the lines, that the drug came in illegally from Europe (or the Middle East).</p> <p>The fact that the trainer (the second trainer) was doing the IA injections himself certainly gives me cause for concern!</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
