I did think it almost looked like it had pushed the inside of the pad outside so to speak. You actually replaced most of the tissue rather than just cutting it all away though. I have to admit I was considering simply cutting the whole 'mass' away.

Re: Pododermatitis

[quote user="ilanit"]Would do FIV/FeLV test.
Already been done! Negative for FeLV and FIV and is on steroids as well (sorry should have said).

It was just the aspect of whether it would be beneficial to remove these outgrowths I was wondering about really. I was worried that they would not heal due to the thin surface of the pad and the need for steroids. Also whether they would simply form again.

Re: Pododermatitis

I saw a similar case last year with all 4 main pads affected with lymphocytic-plasmacytic pododermatitis, but it looked like the pad on one paw had split and had a similar "mass" which appeared to be the subcut tissue which had popped out though the hole. I debrided it enough to replace it, sutured the pad back over and dressed it for a couple of weeks, plus preds - did fine.

Re: Pododermatitis

plasmacellular pododermatitis.
