A lovely jumble there.
Indeed!
304 comes up rostral to 203, but 404 comes up caudal to 103, is that right?
Exactly so.
What's the relation of the mandibular 9s to the maxillary 8s? I'm guessing from the pictures that it's approximately normal.
Also correct.
Certainly do the least possible interference and don't be in a hurry.
This backs up my thoughts entirely. I'm keen to avoid extracting healthy teeth if I can, so unless there are obvious current problems I will leave and monitor periodically.

Many thanks for your rapid and helpful response.

Re: Posterior cross bite

A lovely jumble there. 304 comes up rostral to 203, but 404 comes up caudal to 103, is that right?

What's the relation of the mandibular 9s to the maxillary 8s? I'm guessing from the pictures that it's approximately normal.

As I've said before, dogs seem to live quite happily with the weirdest of occlusions and I just don't know if these things are going to affect his health and comfort. Certainly do the least possible interference and don't be in a hurry. I think you would probably be wanting to extract 408 and 308 (maybe 407 and 307 also). The trouble is that 408 or 308 can be an absolute pig to extract when periodontally healthy – it fills me with dread sometimes – and you'd be planning an open extraction.

Maybe after assessment you'd want to extract 103 . That's quite a pig to extract too.
