He has been on Palladia and is close to top dose!
Several new tumours have erupted after over a year doing incredibly well!
Any ideas?

Re: Rescue protocol for mast cell tumour patient on Palladia?

In people they work their way through the TKI's so masitinib may be worth a go. Failing that the conventional chemo option would be prednisolone plus vinblastine +/- chlorambucil, assuming surgical removal isn't possible. Radiotherapy isn't going to be an option if you have multiple tumour in different areas.

Even so, it seems that mastinib may not be the holy grail it was once thought to be. Email Gerry Polton at gpolton@ndsr.co.uk or think about radiotherapy.

Re: Rescue protocol for mast cell tumour patient on Palladia?

Lomustidine?

I believe that some oncologists try changing to Masivet (or the other way round if they start on that) if treatment fails, although one I spoke to felt that this made no difference.
