Hope you get to look at it

Glucose may indicate a stressed response, there may be dehydration (raised uric acid) or evidence of renal disease (ca:P). The pointy eggs are likely pinworm ova. I wouldn't use fenbendazole at this stage in this dragon as it will suppress the WBC. But would get a faecal from this guy when he does one.

Re: Bearded dragon opinion please

Many thanks, Mark. No, I can't palpate a blockage, and this lad is relaxed and easy to palpate. To be honest I hadn't really considered anything respiratory, expecting to see other symptoms I suppose.

What sort of abnormalities would I be hoping not to see in a blood profile.?

The lad's female companion (sister, I believe) is thriving. In her faeces looked at this morning there are small numbers of two types of worm egg that I can't identify: one is an ascarid, the other is rather like the strongyle shape but slightly more pointy (but no "plugs"). This dragon (dragoness? ) shall be having fenbendazole – will it be safe to give the poorly male fenbendazole?

Re: Bearded dragon opinion please

Hello Evelyn,

Can you palpate a blockage, they are usually easy to feel with careful palpation. TBH I dont like that thoracic area (I would say cavity but there is no diaphragm) The lung space looks obliterated to me. Could be organomegaly or pneumonia. Here is a normal. You can see a midline density that is the normal stomach/liver but there is also plenty of air space in the sac like lungs that your beardie is lacking. Bone minealisation is OK, can you get a lateral. I would start on abs, nsaids, gavage fluids (if no impactions felt) and possibly some nebulisation (and try to push for bloods).

Fortum 20mg/kg q 72hr

Melox 0.3mg/kg sid

Vetark critical care formula by gavage

F10 nebulisation

Goodluck
