Was going to say the same, PM Malcolm Ness on here, but from what I recall (worked there as a new grad) ovulation is timed by serum PGN assays, which are done in house. Bloods can be posted for analysis (good if client lives too far to travel daily). They do both chilled and frozen AI and can perform semen collection/storage if needed. Timing if AI with respect to ovulation depends on the fresh vs frozen option. Louise McLean is the repro contact at the practice if you'd prefer to call direct rather than PMing on here. Jenny

Had one of these recently who had also had hip scoring done before mating, but decided to ignore the crappy score and breed anyway, no doubt selling the puppies as having "hip-scored parents"!

I once took the post-castration stitches out of a young and horny bloodhound on the owner's kitchen floor when he did the same thing - a fairly spectacular production. The extremely posh and refined elderly lady owner went rather red and coughed slightly before surreptitiously wiping it up with her tissue. Nothing was said and I just managed to control my hysterical laughter until I got out of the door.

Does anyone do vaginal cytology these days? I loathe premate tests as breeders tend to hassle you for them, then ignore the results and go with their guts anyway......

Refer him to Angelika von Heimendahl, as suggested above. Failing that, tell him you can't/ won't get involved for personal reasons.

If you aren't the boss and your boss insists, tell him/ her that you will gladly hold the bowl while he takes matters in hand.

I would factor in several premate tests as who knows when in her season she ovulates! Only case of AI I know (not to be recommended!) was many years ago. My old boss had a client come rushing in with a semen sample caught from the dog (in a cereal bowl the story goes) and a request to insert it into the bitch. apparently she caught as well!

I'd prepare a quote which included 2 or 3 rounds of AI, on the basis that conception isn't a guaranteed event.

You might also use Dr Google to your advantage, rather than his (I'm assuming this is where the seed was planted for him). There must be some cracking horror stories out there.
