Asking the wrong person I'm afraid - charity vet - so, yes.

Having said that, a colleague spayed a bitch in pseudo and she produced milk for 6 months following.

If it was me, I'd jab her with delvosterone and spay in a month. Absolutely no evidence for it, though.

Re: Haemorrhagic mammary secretion

My terrier bitch used to have an almost permanent pseudopregnancy and the dominant secretion was usually haemorrhagic. Once the initial fluid had been expressed there was usually normal looking milk to follow. She's been like this most of her life and is now ~14 and still bright and well (and spayed, finally, after a horrid haemorrhagic pyo).

I just assumed it was normal for her.

Yep (apart from mild homogenous enlargement of all mammary glands - feel similar to pseudopregnancy)

Top looks like foamy macrophages; middle epithelial cells, likely from teat lining; bottom again macrophages, with a giant cell in the middle.

Points towards possibly some chronic inflammation, nothing on here that excites me too much. Any other skin lesions anywhere? Anything sucking the teats at home? Teats normal from the outside?
