Dunno - if you actually get one on the barbs may hold it in place nicely...... getting it on would be the trick I think. Presumably one would use the ribbed versions so as to induce ovulation - thereby negating the need to spay the females......

I've used it many times in big cats and always found it to be reliable although usually in females. Not entirely sure how this equates to our domestic moggies. Have you contacted Virbac?
