Just wanted a bit of advice as not something I've come across before. Elderly lady brought in her 15 year old yorkie today. She was extremely upset as had been stopped in the park and accussed of infecting all the other dogs with warts.

You don't need a GA. Clip, quick clean, bleb of local and pair of curved scissors. Single staple usually enough. I have done odd ones during consults.

Re: Warts - advice to client

We see a lot of the oral papilloma virus in south west London, but as far as I know it's gone by 2 years old and dogs are immune at this stage. The others aren't in the same league as others have mentioned. You can console the client, but I doubt the self proclaimed professionals in the park will shut up anytime soon.

Re: Warts - advice to client

Ah thanks,

I suspect there is a group of elderly park-goers who all tend to meet up for a chat with their similarly elderly pets Why not suggest removing one under local and sending it for histopath..
