I'll declare an interest - Virbac sell tumil k - but that's not why I comment - conns is hardly a big market - I have had those more knowledgeable than me say in the past that this is a potential prob with high doses needed to treat conns...they could be wrong, I haven't checked, but you might like to!

Re: Hypokalaemic cat

With a K+ that low I'd worry about Conns too

There is a link between hypokalemia and hypertension in CRF cats. Not sure about it in other diseases but defo worth checking BP, adrenal US and so on. Re supplements you have to give a bucketload of kaminox to increase the K+. worth remembering seurm K+ is a poor predicotr of total body K+ so I would without fail in such a low K+ hospitalise, check Magnesium too and supplement parenterally at high doses. I have no hesitations at giving at the max recommended dose for 12 hours then rechecking in such a case.

I use quite a lot for old CKD cats with hyperkalaemia. Don't know that I've seen too many with Conn's syndrome but as you say Kate it is being recognised and it is on the radar at least in differential diagnoses.

Re: Hypokalaemic cat

Tumil K as Martin suggested, tablets or powder, or Kaminox (Vetplus) which is a liquid.
Age and breed?
