Actually, come to think of it, they didn't react much.

I mean, compared with an I/M injection of Terramycin, or S/C for that matter; even cows reacted to that.

[managed to prevent my small son getting a jab of that in Spain for a simple cut on the head.....] apart from the yellow teeth!!

I have to say cats getting depomed i/m don't seem to notice it so I give it i/m. If it was uncomfortable I probably would have been giving it s/c by now!

I tend to give it SQ and it certainly seems to work. However given rather more cats than I'd like are on it long term and monthly I think there is a lot to be said for giving it in the same hindlimb each time (SQ or IM) - current wisdom is that "vaccine associated sarcomas" are actually (long acting) "injection associated sarcomas" and however low the actual incidence is these cats will be getting a lot more injections than average.

Sub cut is fine, never had a problem with it.

I mainly use it for unpillable cats, and those awful eosinophilic nasties cats get in their various guises. and never had a problem with it.

Always S/C or sublesional. Seen one of the only injection abscesses ever when it was given I/M and it hurts the animal more when I/M.

They never seem bothered by it IM and I have never given it (knowingly) SC so couldn't comment.

Not sure about the pharmacokinetics of it but anecdotally, one of my bosses often gives it SQ and certainly in those regular cases we see back again and again, it seems to work just as well as IM!
