I have seen a 2g poison dart frog that developped a wound on her leg, near the ankle. There is pus coming out of the wound. I managed to take a swab from it.
At the moment, I am treating it with topical application of gentamicin.
Any culture samples or cytology? You can get some really weird bacteria from amphibians and fungal/protozoal infections can also be responsible. I am wary of gentamicin in amphibia due to the potential for concurrent dehydration and renal toxicity of gentamicin. Is it a deep wound? If only superficial then I've had good results with fucithalmic eye ointment topically. If deep you may be better off using systemic antibiotics like enro or ceftazidime. Worth keeping it under clean conditions in a hospital tank if possible to prevent environmental opportunistic pathogens complicating the situation.

I use meloxicam but am cautious with dosing and give 0.1mg/kg sid in small amphibia - it can be diluted down for such a small animal if the owner is able to administer it. An alternative is butorphanol but needs dosing far more frequently and dosing levels are even less understood.

I use bicarbonate of soda to buffer the MS222 until at pH6.5-7.5.
