Old JRT with testicular growth, castrated the week before I started. Saw it the following week with much self-excoriation - the usual busy terrier - and urine dribbling. Initially put down to pain, so onto NSAIDs. When I say pockets, we're talking about 2-3mm in size; I think prostatic wash is a reasonable idea, though.

There are issues in FNAs in humans - increasing SPA counts generally lead to FNA attempts, and apparently harvest rates are low - it's not uncommon to have the process repeated several times before clincial suspicions are confirmed. Admittedly, these tend to be performed earlier in people than in dogs.

Think we're covered with the prostate - particularly with David's excellent suggestion. Any thoughts about sudden onset urethral issues?

Re: Incontinence following removal of lumpy testicle

"couple of pockets of fluid" - are these definitely in the prostate? It would be unusual to get this with BPH. If you suspect prostate then you could really do with a sample from it - either US-guided FNA or prostatic wash are easy to do and cytology will give a lot of info (post on here if you like). I would spend the money of this rather than bloods for BPH.
