Fits last 4-5 minutes and the dog is normal in the inter-ictal period Full bloods (Haem

Re: Fitting Husky with Ocular Changes

Thanks, we have a tonometer at one of our branch practices so will try and organise it and the dog meeting and let you know the results.

Re: Fitting Husky with Ocular Changes

Hi Anthony

Corneal cloudiness may be oedema, lipid as you have already identified or scarring. I would be suspicious of oedema if it is homogenous and as such my main differentials would be glaucoma and/or uveitis.

Ideally needs an intraocular pressure measurement ASAP

Difficult to give any further advice at this stage but a photo would really help

Has an appointment at our main branch (that has a half decent opthalmoscope) so will be able to inv further, Will pass on the advice already given to the vet seeing it, any other ideas?

I hadn't even thought of checking it's abdomen for an eye problem but the vet I referred him to told me it was quite common. So I would suggest abdominal x-rays and ultrasound.

Re: Fitting Husky with Ocular Changes

I'm sure an eye specialist will be along later, but I seem to remember these fatty deposits can be linked to other disorders which alter blood triglyceride etc. The first thing I'd wonder would be thyroid as a link between neuro disorders and this. I'd be going off first principles, though. As you say, routine bloods have been clear, so it might be a bit tenuous.
