I have seen an old cat tonight that had been on 10mg bid Vidalta up until June for hyperthyroidism where owners struggle to give tablets and T4 levels were alway high. I am very keen on this diet in theory - it seems a brilliant idea, but I guess you need to choose your cats carefully!

I had 2 cats on it . One died , he had a previous iliac thrombosis a number of years prior and then died suddenly before he had been on the food for a month so no feedback there . Another one , 7 weeks in T4 under 60 (57 ) but lower weight than when he started the diet unfortunately by 250 gms . I think he will go back on tablets .

Re: Y/d diet

I've tried it on one cta but the owner couldn't get the cat to eat it so gave up.

I've got 2 more which have started it this week so will see how they get on with it. One of them has had ever increasing doses of vidalta and felimazole (not together) but T4 levels never seem to come down below 150. So I'm really hoping the diet will work.
