I would like to know if the Suprolorin implant is very effective in female rats?
I am looking for a female with chronic respiratory problem, so not really a good candidate for surgery, to prevent development of mammary gland tumour. Is it like

Re: Suprelorin in rats

Hi Violaine,

Suprelorin 4.7mg has been shown to be effective in female rats (Cetin et al, Jun 2012, J Repro Dom Ani). Should last the lifespan of the rat. No data on its effect on mammary or uterine tumours.

Implant subcutaneously, clean area and tissue glue as required.

The implant should be effective at neutering her but you might not prevent mammary pathology if a prolactin a is already present.
