Splinting in extension in fact will probably allow those fractures to heal with minimal intervention. If relocation cannot be achieved closed, then open reduction will be necessary and you could then do something surgical with the fracture. Amputation is a cheap salvage procedure. I would be tempted to reduce the dislocation closed and if it reduces well splint in extension and allow the other fractures to heal by themselves as they probably will.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Obviously continue pain relief etc.&lt;/p&gt;
