I really should search the threads prior to posting!

Cheers for the input and the heads up re propofol.

I have sourced from H.Schein 500ml £20, Exp 03/2014 so we will likely get through it.

ps you'll need to get 3 or 4 bags in though - although they keep for a good while

Used it in a few cases now, with complete success.

But.

As ever, they're always cases where you don't know whether the patient would have died or not. The one case where I felt it was a cast-iron lifesaver was with a good friend's dog, which had worsened overnight at the OOH centre, but showed decent improvement after a couple of hours of iv lipid. One hot tip, though - if you're attempting to control associated seizures with propofol infusion, they'll get worse as the intralipid reaches higher plasma levels. Obvious if you think about it - what with propofol being lipophilic and all (for this reason, intralipids are used for propofol syndrome in induced comas in people).

I started this after Jane's posts on the subject, and have also liked the methocarbamol alongside.

They're also ridiculously cheap for what they do - about a fiver a bag (we get ours from the local hospital).

No experience but it sounds quite clever.

May I ask where you are getting it from and at what cost?
