Unfortunately there was no way to stop and ask the owner for details but it looked brilliant. Thanks for the good references!

Most small dogs tolerate them very well and as Thomas says they really help with re-habilitation which accelerates the recovery of those that can regain the use of their hind legs. When that dog died his owner donated it to the surgery and we loan it out. Although I haven't needed a new one for a patient for several years one client with about 30 Dachshunds (yes you did read that correctly) uses it quite regularly and being a bit of an engineer he refurbished it for me when it was on its last legs. Last time I looked there wasn't a UK distributor for K9carts but there is another company in the UK - they had a stand at the London Vet Show last year although can't for the life of me remember who they were.

PS thanks Anthony you posted while I was still writing my soliloquy!

Re: "Wheelchair" for dogs
Did it look like this?
A client of ours has one for her dachshund which had a disc herniation and spinal surgery. It can move its hindlimbs, but struggles to weightbear on them for more than a few steps on its own, it has normal bladder and bowel function. It appears to really enjoy using the cart.
