I removed a fast growing mast cell tumour from an obese 5 year old golden retriever. Was about 2/3 inch in diameter, on the medial abdomen, embedded in a thick layer of fat, so easy to remove totally. Has the pathologist commented on the margins of removal? Masivet is likely to only be indicated in high grade or poorly respected tumours and even then may only be suitable if recurrence is documented. If a higher grade then staging for metastatic spread would be a good idea before deciding on a treatment plan.
