These seem to be the most popular choices (I would feel rat more likely given size - 3.7cm long), but I still think their tails are too short:

Interesting creatures as you say, but I'm guessing somewhat rare in Suffolk!

One of our nurses dissected one: GIT looks carnivorous. Had paired pale structures on dorsal neck - ?some sort of glands.

What a waste of gin (or did you still make use of it?). I'd agree mouse/rat and, if they are 3cm long I'd be guessing rat.

My first thought was 'hedgehog' but three would be unusual (out here, anyway) and the noses do not seem sufficiently pointed.

The upper lip/nose looks more carnivore than rabbity ie no split (although I'm not sure whether they're born like that) so I'd guess weasel, stoat or similar

Top guess in the practice so far is stoat or weazel. I don't think they look like rabbits, but I'm no expert!

Owner's friend who was walking the dog at the time did think that they were premature puppies. I was able to confidently assure her that this was not the case as I spayed the bitch myself!

Can you see any teeth?

(I had a client bring me a 'puppy' their dog had found, it was a rabbit, older than these).

Rabbit, little rodenty things (voles/mice etc - poss too small), squirrel, mole....

Safely say that not cat or dog unless premature foetuses!
