I'm not sure if it was put on for the cameras, but Noel appeared not to know about giving i/v vodka as a possible treatment.

The only ones I've seen in recent times were suspected as malicious and my sister's cat that had got access to a leaking canister of the stuff my brother in law had chucked down the side of the house. I got a story in the local press about it but there is a risk that for everyone who learns to be careful about handling/storing the stuff there may be one cat hater who is alerted to using it maliciously.

I read that in cats ethanol is only of help if within 3 hours of ingestion - but unless witnessed how would you ever know that...

I have tried iv vodka a few times ,but I think we just get them too late , and its such a waste of my finest Smirnoff-North.

The anti-freeze smells better apparently ,only sniffed the other at Staff Christmas parties, after the table wines bitten the dust things can get desperate.

We probably get them monthly : its malicious : pigeons, proud gardeners, pet haters etc . It was worse after a woman tried to poison her husband and collect the swag , made all the undesirables aware to its toxicity.

Had one last week. Poor thing only 1 yr old, kds radiopacity as bright as bone. Usual sky high crea/urea/K+ and low Ca++

Just seen 2 this morning - 14 month old littermates - (had to euthanase both) does any know if there is any move to add a bitterant to anti freeze in the UK - I believe it's legislation in the US since 2012 - cannot believe how slow we are on this..

Posted links on facebook so hopefully spread the word. We have had several cats with antifreeze poisoning, some which the RSPCA thought were malicious by pigeon fanciers and some by antifreeze in fountains and water features.
