Can anyone advise?

5-10mg/kg eod given im. Therapeutic concentrations are maintained up to 5 days after a single 10mg/kg injection IP. (lewbart et al 2005). Ip injections should be done carefully.

Hope it helps!

Re: Baytril dose in a Koi carp?

Fin rot is very often a secondary issue; they used to call it a columnaris infection because the bacteria were in stacks on microscopic exam of the fin. It's very often present when the fish is stressed or has some primary illness. Your client's water quality should be treated as suspect. Yes, I know whoever he is has kept the fish there since the year dot and never had a problem...lots of rain probably washed stuff into his pond, or the high temperatures recently decreased dissolved oxygen concentration. When was his last water change?

I seem to remember the enro dose is 10mg/kg injected on alternate days, but I will double check this at home.

Good luck!

Re: Baytril dose in a Koi carp?

Rats, my copy of Noga is at home. Make sure you correct the water husbandry problems; healthy water means healthy fish!
