From what i recall the intradermal testing in cats is more hit and miss,[/quote]

Funnily enough I was about to post a question about allergy testing in cats generally and would be very interested to hear what people think about it.

Generally it seems that rather few cats need/get tested for allergies as compared to dogs (I guess the vast majority of skin problems in cats are flea-related - then harvest mites and so on). However the labs I have spoken to about doing blood panels for cats are very much in favour (as they might well be) - however the FAB website says that allergy testing for cats is available but a bit unreliable.

The few results I have seen for cats which have been blood tested have shown a positive result to everything under the sun - which makes formulating an immunotherapy vaccine difficult (I think a maximum of 8 allergens is allowed per formulation). I've had no experience of skin testing in cats.

I have my own pet theory that the cat you see with the really horrible raw lesions round the back of the neck may well be a food allergy - but not sure if this is really validated.

Would welcome any views/experiences.

Re: Atruvetrin in a cat ?

Almost all our patients on Artuvetrin are dogs.
