The dog improved over the last 24 hours, not normal re panting/odd in kennel behaviour but with a lack of convincing external signs we elected to send home to enjoy its Easter holiday. Due back next week for check

Arlo - videos off a colleague's iPhone, shot in portrait, subsequently downloaded onto old crappy PC and attached from there, so no idea re reason for strangeness.

Re: neurological?

Much better! Although I'm afraid I have nothing further to add. The dog appears neurologically normal from the video and so I cannot be of much more help and I'd be cautious in interpretation of proprioceptive deificts in a dog with a relatively normal gait. Mycotoxins (or any toxin) are possible as Utlendigur says, although tremors are a common sign with this intoxication - though their absence doesn't rule it out completely. I'd hospitalise the dog and just observe. It will hopefully improve in time for its Easter holiday.

Re: neurological?
Thanks for the replies thus far Mark, videos are below:
David - that's worked much better than the first time you posted the videos. I think the reason is that your videos are in a very strange format. Like a portrait photo, when videos are always shot in landscape, if you see what I mean. So when you first uploaded them to vetsurgeon, it thought they were a standard shape and stretched them to fit, causing them to be very distorted.

Much better now they are on youtube, still I am curious as to why they are in the unconventional format. Was someone holding the video camera at 90 degrees, or some other reason!

Re: neurological?

May be clutching at straws but a colleague had a case over a weekend a couple of years ago that looked similar - just constant panting, anorexia, odd gait and (initially as far as I remember a slight tremor). VPIS wondered about mycotoxins as the dog had raided the kitchen bin and eaten some mouldy yoghurt. The dog recovered over 2-3days

Re: neurological?

Thanks for the replies thus far Mark, videos are below:

You use the same button on VS as you used to upload your video here, but instead select the 'from url' tab, and pasting in the web address of the youtube video you have uploaded. Hope that makes sense!

Re: neurological?

Yes, apologies, technological mishap.
