Somewhere in my head there's a thing that says I don't have to wait the 4-6 hours; but I can't find the reference.

Re: changing analgesia

[quote user="Gerry Henry"]

Dear Kismet,

The COMFORTAN people say you can give methadone on top of Buprenorphine without any problems. My question is why, if you have methadone on the premises, you would give buprenorphine at all? Comfortan everything, its cheap and it works really well.

I didn't, oh wind-up merchant

The dog was transferred for post-op care from one of the practices whose emergencies we cover over the weekend; and the vetergesic it had had was clearly insuffient for its needs. Poor thing had several nasty injuries of unknown origin, one of which had penetrated the lateral chest.
