IMO SIBO is not a condition but the result of something else like dietary intolerance, malabsorption etc. So as already said, investigation of the primary cause is required not injudicious use of antibiotics.

Fenbendazole for Giardia despite the human data sheet claims for metronidazole. I give them 7 days. It is an opportunist parasite but we are detecting it more and more (we are looking more and more!) but do get good response to treatment. Recheck for Giardia.

I tend to use oxytet for bacterial overgrowth problems.

What bloodwork has been done? TLI/folate?

I'd assume same resistance spectrum as li bacteria so do rectalswab-also previous diarrhoea may have caused chronic scarring/villous atrophy-especially if at time of weaning,so may have malabsorption problem

Yes had giardia and isospora with 4 weeks MTZ and trimacare . He has had probiotics and been on sensetivity for 2 months since about 3 months of age . He has had kennel cough and poor thrift since 9 weeks old or before ..

mild anaemia

normal TLI , high folate , low cobalamin

Has this dog has anything other than antibiotics? In a dog of this age I would be suspicious of dietary intolerance and so a diet trial using a novel protein diet would be appropriate. What is the history? Has he had bloods (TLI, folate, cobalamin), faecal analysis? For genuine ARD cases I use metronidazole, Oxytetracycline or tylosin. Andy
