L-Asperagenise is far more economical for us GP's to get hold of of late from chemopet.

Does anyone have a favored protocol for l-asperaginase?

Off the top of my head it's cyclo at 10mg/kg po every 10 days and pred 1mg/kg daily. I break the tabs for the client and advise gloves etc. I often give abs as well dt the immunosuppression. Not seen cystitis myself.
I'll check the cyclo dose in work tomorrow for you :-)

Re: Lymphoma treatment in a Guinea Pig

Thank-you Mark. Are the protocols in any papers/books? I'm struggling to fine anything concrete about doses and how to split the tablets (I presume they'd need splitting!)

Would you try and do bloods/blood smears to monitor or that just too tricky . Do you tend to get any side effect such as cystitis.

I have used steroid/cyclophosphamide combos for these once the diagnosis has been confirmed by histo of a good biopsy. Few weeks to a few months has generally been my experience also.

I did get to ring a vet today for advice. He was v busy + so rushed on the phone but said he used cyclophasphamide. Sometimes worked well for few weeks to a few months sometimes no response. He couldn't say what protocol he used but did imply he could maybe look up notes on some others he'd used it on if we confirmed it. He did say try and avoid steroids??
