I had a 1 year 4 month old DSH neutered female cat for a booster today. Owner reported that she was always hyperactive kitten, but settled after spay except one thing: almost every evening when its already dark she changes her behavior

Re: Unusual cat's late evening behavior

She has somewhat; the experience of Mother in Law's birthday party was a definite corrective (got so hammered before the lunch she had to retire to a darkened room for the rest of the afternoon).

Re: Unusual cat's late evening behavior
Give it a large G & T at about 7.30, settles my wife nicely, probably work on the cat too.
I just wonder if there's a possibility of a porto-systemic shunt - any other symptoms like polydypsia? Might be worth doing post prandial bile acids as ammonia is almost impossible and maybe an X-ray/ultrasound to see if the liver is small.

Re: Unusual cat's late evening behavior

Thank you everyone, I'll let her know its normal :)

Re: Unusual cat's late evening behavior

3am seems to be my cats' favourite time for the Feline Grand National-my bed as Beecher's brook-with me sleeping in it
