If I was using a different product, without permethrin, I would be comfortable applying it considerably sooner than that.

Re: Bob Martin flea treatments

We asked Merial this once and they reckoned we could apply frontline 48 hrs after permethrin products.

Re: Bob Martin flea treatments

Watch out for Advantix which contains permethrin and is in a lot of the Bob Martins products. Could get cumulative toxicity there.

Re: Bob Martin flea treatments

My view is that one of the Bob Martin products is far more effective than Frontline! This has been dealt with on other threads but we stopped using fipronil based spot-ons a few years ago except for tick control.

Remember one of the Bob Martins products is actually the same as Advantage! Assuming you are talking about permethrin based products I recommend a week but this is based more on caution and ignorance than knowledge!

Imidocloprid products have such a good safety level that I would happily put another product on next day but as it seems to work well for flea control I am not sure I would recommend another product for a month.

Bayer seem to be busily supporting the pet shop companies such as Bob Martins and I am sure Advantix will go over the counter fairly soon. It is difficult to argue that such a product should be POM when both ingredients sit side by side on Morrisons shelves!

I am sure Bayer will tell us this is an opportunity not a problem!!

Re: Bob Martin flea treatments

As far as I understand,in the dog its ok as long as its dry .
