Will be doing the same tomorrow, but a very daft question showing a complete lack of understanding of how machines work:
Can I run rabbit bloods on the idexx machine

Re: VERY stupid rabbit bloods question

Our IDEXX machines have parameteres for a surprising range of species, although have noted Calcium ranges in rabbits are slightly low.

Re: VERY stupid rabbit bloods question

[quote user="james herriot lied"] Can I run rabbit bloods on the idexx machine?
No reason not to AFAIK, the Vettest 8008 has a lot more normals on it than just cats and dogs. Any doubt phone Idexx - the machine was developed by Kodak originally for work on zoo animals and they have an enormous range of normals, including some real exotics like dolphins; they'll definitely have rabbit stuff.

Had a rep try and convince me last year that their haematology machine would work fine for birds and reptiles, took ages to explain to him that it really wouldn't!

It's when you get to haematology machines and birds that things get confusing.

Obviously make allowances for the reference range.....
