Interesting, the case I want to use it in is an epitheliotrophic lymphoma; these are depressing cases to treat, CHOP doesn't seem to do alot

Re: Masivet
Can be obtained via one of the wholesalers (can't remember which one, sorry, but its not Centaur!) or directly via website; she will email details including an access number and can be ordered via website and paid by credit card.
I saw Josephine just before Christmas and she said it was available directly from them or through NVS only. As I don't have an NVS account this was not helpful but she assured me it would be delivered in 2 -3 days. Still expensive though, especially for larger dogs.

Indeed, I've heard good things from our local oncologists. However a fair few still seem to come back on conventional chemo (pred & vinblastine/leukeran mainly) so i'd be interested to see the comparrison there?

Thank you, I have a case where I am considering masivet, and have just had a chat w Josephine Howell, very helpful and friendly. Surgery still the best option if resectable, but if not or other reasons why ga not advisable, then worth trying. 85% chance of success, either complete remisison or reduction in size of MCT, generally see this within 2 months, if no change after 2months of treatment, no point in continuing. If there is a response then continue tx for 6months if complete remission, or long term if only achieved a reduction in size of MCT. Also if incomplete margins after resection or high grade tumour then also worth tx w masivet.

Dose 12.5mg/kg, comes in 50mg and 150mg tablets. Tablets shouldn't be split. Approx £28 for pot of 30 x 50mg, £64 for 30 x 150mg, + £24 shipping fee per shipment regardless of how many pots ordered. Can be obtained via one of the wholesalers (can't remember which one, sorry, but its not Centaur!) or directly via website; she will email details including an access number and can be ordered via website and paid by credit card.

Blood monitoring advised to check for neutropaenia, anaemia, increases in ALT and decreases in albumin ie liver parameters, every 2 weeks
Any ideas how Palladia vs. Masivet stacks up in efficacy/cost/etc.?
In reality I have very little expereince of these drugs, for MCTs I tent to go for vinbastine/lomustine in the first instance unless they are positive for KIT mutation, so I can count the number of times I have used either on the fingers of one hand. The reason I want to get hold of it now is to attempt a rescue in a relapsed epitheliotropic lymphoma.

I think the comparison between the two is not as simple as it seems, the indications for these are not quite the same. I wonder if any of our oncologist colleagues might reply to this thread........

It used to be very expensive but prices have come down dramatically in the last month or so and is now much more reasonable.

We have had good results on the few cases we have used it for (excellent actually!) but I have not been personally involved so can't give details - I can tell you it is eyewateringly expensive, but even a basic course until the money runs out is apparently worthwhile, some of ours were still in remission over a year later. not sure what current status is, as I'm stuck in a branch surgery in the hills.
