The more phrases "Approved by veterinarians.." or "Designed by veterinarians..." appears on the label, the less the pet food corresponds to animal needs and the more problems it causes :)

So it is! I read 'Now available at Tesco' to mean a product made by another company. And I can't find anything on the site that actually says it is an own brand. Only on further investigation did I find wearehimandher.posterous.com/nutricat-launches

Nutricat is a Tesco own-brand cat food, so it's not surprising that they also got the message.

My question would be, was the veterinarian wholly independent of the manufacturer or brand?

But in this case, the singular seems to me to imply the qualification held by all vets, if you see what I mean.

One, but then it does say 'Veterinarian approved' which does not imply a plural!!
