A totally fresh perspective is what's needed, and a solid basis in the practicing profession. This shower will knock another nail into smaller, patient centred, community centred practice if we let them get away with it.

RE: RCVS Council candidates now asked to say what they would bring to the party

Ah yes, silly me. Well we'll just have to agree to disagree. It's not a job IMHO, if elected I owe no allegiance to my 'employer' the RCVS. The position is more akin to say a Parish Councillor, done more in the spirit of service than anything else and basically non-remunerated. The candidate statement allows the candidate to introduce and develop an idea; this sad little tick box questionnaire is so typical of the College today.

RE: RCVS Council candidates now asked to say what they would bring to the party

[mention:9ae8cb0590104c36b3fe701f23c4c5d6:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] Not sure why, but you can just use the reply box at the top (as you just did!)

RE: RCVS Council candidates now asked to say what they would bring to the party

There is no reply tab below your post Arlow.

RE: RCVS Council candidates now asked to say what they would bring to the party

[mention:9ae8cb0590104c36b3fe701f23c4c5d6:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] But isn't it precisely that, a job application? I would have thought much easier for you to make a judgement about how good at the job a Councillor is likely to be if you know their experience and qualifications and why (they say) they want to do it. Much more illuminating than a free range manifesto.

RE: RCVS Council candidates now asked to say what they would bring to the party

It's a step back and now reads more like a job application. It's awful IMHO. The big change which they have slipped under the radar is to reduce the questions a candidate is required to answer from two to one. This is farcical, more, unintentional evidence that the RCVS has no real interest in what the membership thinks. Candidates should be require4d to answer a minimum of 4 questions, the two most popular being compulsory. Not My College ?
